Clinical Evaluations for Immigration Cases

These are the cases I address:

  • Extreme Hardship Waivers
  • Asylum
  • Domestic Violence Cases (VAWA)

The what and the why behind immigration evaluations…

A clinical immigration evaluation is a thorough psychosocial assessment that a therapist provides for immigration cases.

This evaluation includes two separate assessment sessions that are 1 – 1.5 hours each session.

I provide a 12- to 15-page detailed write-up, including a biopsychosocial evaluation, a mental status exam, and multiple clinical self-assessments. By providing an impartial, objective assessment, I can assess for and provide evidence that can help support the client’s immigration case.

This assessment is often the deciding factor in whether the client can stay together or whether a client can escape life-threatening circumstances in their country of origin.

What are the next steps?

Lawyers can reach out to me directly through the contact page, or lawyers can refer their clients to my website.

I will schedule the client for two 1 – 1.5-hour sessions via telehealth, with sessions scheduled roughly one week apart.

Once the evaluation is complete, I will write a detailed 12- to 15-page assessment within three to four weeks from the last evaluation date.
